TRY TO IMAGINE THIS SCENARIO
Disclaimer: I didn't write this story in an attempt, IN ANY WAY, to not support our efforts to help people who suffer. Suffering is never good and no one deserves it. But I do feel many people "suffer" sicknesses based upon their lack of health. Just as I believe people shouldn't suffer, I don't think animals should suffer in our attempts to develop drugs to alleviate the suffering of people who choose unhealthy lifestyles and then suffer the consequences.
Sometimes people, who do not
wish to take the time and "effort" it takes to become healthier
and/or educated, develop diseases because of the choices they make. Diseases
brought on, in a large part, by their laziness and/or lack of education.
The laboratory technicians perform
various CRUEL experiments on this rabbit to develop drugs that enable
"sick" people to "find" some "relief" from their problems. Problems that
could be averted with the application of healthy choices.
THE CRIMINAL?
NOT THE RABBIT.
Its only crime was birth. The
"sick" person
is guilty for choosing not to take the time and effort
to be healthier.
THE CONVICTED?
NOT THE PERSON,
even though he/she made unhealthy
choices. The rabbit
was convicted for being "less" than the "sick" person.
THE SENTENCE?
A TRUE LOSE/LOSE SITUATION.
It's a sad and painful tie,
with the "sick" person getting the best of the worst - unhealthiness,
diseases and discomfort.
The rabbit gets confinement, suffering
and sometimes, mercifully, death.
Come to think of it, DON'T
TRY TO IMAGINE this situation.
You don't have to, IT ALREADY EXISTS.
You can ignore it if you want to, but that doesn't make it go away.
Opportunities exist. You do
have choices.THE RABBIT DIDN'T.
